Cookie Policy
Last Updated: 20 May 2025
This page explains what cookies are, how Quillstone uses them, and what choices you have. We keep our use of cookies minimal and purposeful. You can adjust your preferences at any time using the controls further down this page.

1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. They are widely used to make sites work as expected, to remember your preferences, and to give site owners a broad understanding of how visitors use their pages.
Quillstone also uses browser localStorage to save your cookie consent choices. This works similarly to a cookie but is stored in your browser and is not sent to our server with each request.
2. Cookie types we use
Necessary Cookies
These cookies are required for the site to function. They include your cookie consent preference stored in localStorage. They cannot be disabled.
Duration: session / persistent · Always active
Analytics Cookies
These cookies help us understand how visitors interact with our website — which pages are visited most and how people navigate. The data is aggregated and does not identify individual visitors.
Example: page view counts, session duration · Duration: up to 12 months
Marketing Cookies
Marketing cookies are used to make any advertising more relevant to you. At present we run no paid advertising campaigns, so these cookies are not actively in use. Consent is recorded in case this changes.
Example: ad personalisation · Duration: up to 6 months
Preference Cookies
These cookies remember settings that affect how our site behaves for you — such as your display region or language preference. Disabling them means those settings will reset on your next visit.
Example: language, region · Duration: up to 12 months
3. Third-party cookies
We may embed or link to third-party services that set their own cookies. These are outside our direct control. Current or potential third-party services include:
- Google Analytics — used to understand site usage in aggregate. Governed by Google's privacy and cookie policies.
- Google Maps — an embedded map on our contact section may set cookies relating to map interaction.
We do not currently use social media pixel tracking or advertising network cookies.
4. Cookie duration
- Session cookies — exist only while your browser is open and are deleted automatically when you close it.
- Persistent cookies — remain on your device for a set period (typically 6 to 12 months) or until you delete them manually.
- localStorage entries — remain until you clear your browser's site data. We use this to remember your consent preferences.
